Why Use Natural Soap?

Look at the ingredients for a product you are now using. Although it may have the words “all natural" or "organic" on the label, is it really an all natural product?

Glycerine is a bi-product from the soap making process and it is removed from commercial soaps and replaced with synthetic foaming agents, soap scum inhibitors, artificial colour, preservatives and hardeners, leaving you with nothing more than a detergent.  These agents are irritating to the skin and this is why some people have allergic reactions to commercial soaps.

Synthetics can cause skin irritation and pollute our environment. Some are possible carcinogens or endocrine disrupters. Synthetic additives provide no benefit.

I use the cold process method to make my soaps with Olive oil as the base, which is an old fashioned soap making process.  All the natural goodness is retained, including glycerine.

All my soaps are superfatted and I retain all the skin-loving glycerine.  Superfatting leaves a portion of unincorporated oils in the finished soap.  Superfatted soaps have superior moisturizing and emollient qualities.

Glycerine prevents skin dryness, acting as an humectant drawing moisture to the skin, preventing excessive drying and evaporation.  The added moisturising properties of glycerine means my soaps are suitable for people with sensitive or easily irritated skin.

All soaps are handmade using the following oils - including coconut, olive, Almond, apricot, macadamia Green palm, Mango, cocoa & shea butter.  Additions to the soaps may include, Oatmeal, Wheatgerm, Clay, silk, Herbs and Spices.  I use no artificial additives.

All soaps are aged and this ensures a long life in the shower or bath.  Soaps will last longer if not left sitting in water for long periods of time; and are able to dry between uses.
